December Update - Year Recap and 2022 plans
over 2 years ago – Sun, Jan 02, 2022 at 01:08:59 PM

Hello everyone!

We hope you are enjoying your holiday season and we would like to wish you a happy New Year :)

Today, we are looking at how things went for us in 2021 and what we have in mind for 2022. Let's begin!

First of all, let me tell you that we have started preparing the merchandise. For this reason, we will be locking orders soon, on February. When we lock orders, you won't be able to add or remove items that you added during the backerkit surveys. If you'd like to change something, you can still do so in your survey. You can request a link on https://elementallis.backerkit.com/. You will still be able to change your address at any moment before we send the rewards.

2021 Recap

What a year! This has been the most intense year in all my life by far.

When 2021 started, we were preparing the demo and the Kickstarter campaign. It was a coin flip for the project, as the success or failure of the campaign would have impacted Elementallis very much. In the end, the overwhelming success of the campaign, thanks to you (we are immensely grateful) allowed us not only to continue working on Elementallis, but to expand what we had in mind for the project.

We have done some interviews during the campaign, written, recorded and live and a bit after. Here are some of them:

Elementallis got featured in some big media outlets as well:

We even got featured in Hobby Consolas, a printed magazine in Spain!

I would also like to thank all of our community in our different sites. All of you have been nice, supportive and genuinely interested in our work. Shoutout to Discord, Twitter and Reddit :) Join them if you haven't!

We have also seen playthroughs of the demo on Youtube and Twitch. You are awesome! <3

After all this wonderful madness, we have been working on Elementallis for the past few months, consistently putting updates and showing stuff each month (even when life gets in the way sometimes).

Steam wishlists have also been growing at a very healthy rate, and that makes us very excited, as this is the main indicator of a nice release. If you haven't, help us out by wishlisting Elementallis! <3

2022 Plans

2022 will be our big year. Let me talk first about Elementallis progress so far.

  • Diego recently finished writing the main story scenes, and we will start this year by working on the additional dialogs and texts.
  • Raúl has already finished around 60% of the soundtrack.
  • Luân has worked on most of the environment art, 2/3 of the enemies, and most of the characters. We will keep adding details and work on the last biomes.
  • I have worked on all the main mechanics (combat, elemental abilities, characters, cutscenes, inputs, saves...) and I have a basic design for the environments. This year I'll be mostly working on level design and adding content, as the foundations are already done.

On 2022, we will update the demo, show you a new trailer and prepare the beta before the release. We are very excited about all of those, and we will keep you posted with updates as we have been doing all this time.

Since we haven't shown new stuff in this update, I'd like to show you some of the new enemies we've been working on :)

We wish you all the best for the coming year and thank you very much for spending time with us!
~Iván
